Week 21

Dear Bobbie,

It feels like I have real butterflies fluttering around inside my belly. This has been the first week that I have been able to feel you constantly moving. Your daddy and I get such a buzz when he puts his hand on my stomach and feels you moving.

You sure must be getting bigger because it is getting harder to fit in to my favourite jeans – though I’m still determined to wear them until they don’t do up!

I can’t believe it’s only a little over 18 weeks and we’ll get to meet you. I can’t wait.

Feelings

Daddy Dean felt Bobbie move for the first time on Monday night. It was magical and perfect. I wish I could have captured the look turned smile on his face forever. We think Bobbie got sick of him touching my tummy so kicked his hand away!

Sweet little helpers

Along with my Dean, Family and Friends, there are a few things that make pregnancy that little bit sweeter -

Yoga – My own time to relax, stretch and focus on Bobbie. Julia, my yoga teacher is fabulous, so bright and bubbly yet calming and peaceful at the same time. Even with about 20 other women in the class it’s so easy to escape even if for only 2 hours. I’ve been ‘yoga-ing’ at home whenever I get a chance.

Doula – Jen, our ‘full-of-energy’ pregnancy & labour support person. As well support for pregnancy, Jen’ll be our support person throughout the labour, from the time we feel we need her to when Bobbie is born. Having someone that puts both Dean and I at ease have helped to alleviate my concerns for the birth. Jen is so sweet and very funny.

Guide to Childbirth
– Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth that Jen lent me was such an eye opener. I absolutely couldn’t put it down. Focusing somewhat on homebirth, there was so much information that I have taken away. It has simply washed away my fear of child birth… almost completely! I’ve started on Ina May’s first book Spiritual Midwifery.

Body Pillow – Though designed for the pregnant female, on occasions I’ve had to steal back off Dean. My long squishy body pillow has been a saviour for my hip pain.

Flowing tops – My secret to still hiding my “bump” at nearly 21 weeks - the wondrous Flowing tops. Luckily at work I sit under air vents, so teamed with a long scarf no-one is any the wiser.

Week 20

Dear Bobbie,

Week 20, halfway and it’s come so fast!

You keep moving around – and I love it. We got to see you on Thursday. It was amazing! The radiographer said you look perfect – though we knew that already!!! You kept yawning, it was very cute! It’s a pity you looked so comfy in there really because there are so many people that would love you to be out here already!!

Can’t wait to meet you, but like Aunty Kate said, maybe get a big bigger so you do not get lost.

Love Me.

Just love...

Start of the Bump.

So Family and Friends, I bring to you Bundle of Bobbie!! Now all of you from afar can see "The Bobbie Bump".

19 weeks 5 days, nearly half way. (I wrote this yesterday, posted today!)

I’m sure there is a grandchild/niece/nephew/cousin/Bobbie (insert whichever applicable to you) in there somewhere!

There we go! I told you.

Tuesday, today, is Yoga day! I get very excited about my Yoga (Thanks Kahla). The instructor, Julia, is just wonderful!! Last Tuesday was “Partner’s Day”. Daddy Dean dutifully attended, and almost behaved himself the whole time. He is so incredible!
