Along with my Dean, Family and Friends, there are a few things that make pregnancy that little bit sweeter -
Yoga – My own time to relax, stretch and focus on Bobbie. Julia, my yoga teacher is fabulous, so bright and bubbly yet calming and peaceful at the same time. Even with about 20 other women in the class it’s so easy to escape even if for only 2 hours. I’ve been ‘yoga-ing’ at home whenever I get a chance.
Doula – Jen, our ‘full-of-energy’ pregnancy & labour support person. As well support for pregnancy, Jen’ll be our support person throughout the labour, from the time we feel we need her to when Bobbie is born. Having someone that puts both Dean and I at ease have helped to alleviate my concerns for the birth. Jen is so sweet and very funny.
Guide to Childbirth – Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth that Jen lent me was such an eye opener. I absolutely couldn’t put it down. Focusing somewhat on homebirth, there was so much information that I have taken away. It has simply washed away my fear of child birth… almost completely! I’ve started on Ina May’s first book Spiritual Midwifery.
Body Pillow – Though designed for the pregnant female, on occasions I’ve had to steal back off Dean. My long squishy body pillow has been a saviour for my hip pain.
Flowing tops – My secret to still hiding my “bump” at nearly 21 weeks - the wondrous Flowing tops. Luckily at work I sit under air vents, so teamed with a long scarf no-one is any the wiser.
